If V tried to talk her down and failed or simply followed the contract: V can either try to talk her down and fail, or respond to her saying that they were the ones hired to take her out. While Anna continued her investigation in the rented apartment, she was confronted by V pulling her gun demanding she get answers as to why they were there. However, the fixer they had contracted was Regina Jones, a former investigative journalist, who had a soft spot for truth seekers, Regina hired a mercenary named V for the job and requested that they seek other options to remove her. Her colleagues that had direct benefit from these illicit actions hired a fixer to prevent further discovery by removing Anna herself from the equation. During her investigative work on a smuggling happening in the Kabuki Market, Anna had managed to stumble upon systematic corruption of the highest degree. 
In 2077, Anna began working undercover in a rented apartment above Watson's Kabuki Market. While decent and honest, Anna is shown to be quick tempered and impulsive. However she always ran into trouble with her colleagues, often she would get involved into matters the NCPD were already aware of and turned a blind eye. Her intentions were always pure and she was one of the few good cops in town looking to make a difference. Despite the corruption on the NCPD, Anna remained uncorrupted and was against any form of injustice. Anna Hamill worked as a patrol officer in Night City.
